Good Questions Get Good Answers

Include the following when submitting questions:

1. Your name

What name (and pronouns) do you want me to use when I answer your question?

2. Problem source

What class (and what teacher) is this problem from?

3. Your question

Be as specific as possible.
What part of the problem is giving you trouble?
What did you already try?

4. Images

Attach a clear, complete picture of the math problem.

If you’ve already done some work on this problem, please take a picture and include it.
I will never show your work on stream without your permission.
Your work helps me identify where you ran into trouble.

Teacher & Parent FAQ

How can students access your streams?
I stream using YouTube and have embedded the feed in this site. The stream and stream-recorded VODS can be accessed on my YouTube Channel.
Students can even get math support asynchronously!
Do students have to watch the streams live?

Not at all. After the stream is over, I will send an email to each person who submitted a question. That email will inform them I answered their question on stream and include a link to the timestamp in the stream-recording (VOD) where I answered their question and a link to the specific place in the Miro notes document where I answered their question.

You can take advantage of this service asychrnonously!

Can I request specific topics/problems for you to cover?

Absolutely! I encourage you to submit math questions via this google form. It allows you to upload images of your math problems, but it does require you to be signed into a google account. Alternatively, you can email your questions directly to ryan@thecalculustutor.com.

Can I request a different time to stream?

Stream times are currently being evaluated so if you have a time in mind, please let me know!

Keep in mind, you don’t have to catch the streams live. This is both a synchronous and asynchronous service. After each stream I will email each person who submitted a question with a link to the specific place in the notes and the stream-recorded VOD where I answered their question.

Can I play your videos in my classroom?

Absolutely! Feel free to clip and reshare them as well. I would love to hear about what you use in your classroom.
